A brilliant portrait of a woman driven by her own beliefs and values to make a positive difference in the world. In 1643 she started the town of Gravesend (currently a part of New York City's Brooklyn) with a charter granting residents religious freedom. She was the first woman in North America to establish a self-governing religiously-tolerant township and the first woman to vote as a householder in an election.
