This volume contains narrative accounts of a series of five uprisings in colonial Virginia (1675), North Carolina (1680), Massachusetts (1689), Maryland (1689), and New York (1690). Each section includes an introduction which briefly outlines the history of each rebellion, the people involved, and the origins of the narratives presented. Each uprising is described by several contemporary observers with different viewpoints. This work provides fascinating reading.
