This volume begins with some account of the family in England and then proceeds to give the descendants of the three Hartford immigrants. The male lines are frequently traced down to the late 1800s. The children of the Stanley daughters are frequently given, but the non-Stanley lines are not carried down beyond that point. There are about two dozen portrait illustrations, and a complete index. The author was a native of Connecticut, a Congregational minister, editor of the Christian Mirror, and author of several biographical works in addition to the present work.
